Our story
Built by a petrolhead, for petrolheads.
Hi, I'm Plamen Zhelev — the guy behind every poster you see here. I started TheCarPosters because I couldn't find car wall art that matched the quality of the cars themselves. Most of it was generic, mass-printed, shipped from China, and looked like an afterthought.
So in early 2024 I bought a printer, ordered the heaviest archival paper I could find, and started making posters for friends out of an Instagram side project. A few months later, total strangers were emailing photos of their cars asking if I could turn them into wall art. That's how the custom service was born.
Today we ship to 3,000+ enthusiasts across Europe and the world, every single poster designed, printed, and hand-framed in our studio in Bulgaria 🇧🇬 — squarely inside the EU, which means no customs nightmares for our European customers and a much faster delivery than overseas alternatives.
What we believe
Your car deserves better than a stock photo.
A poster of someone else's BMW M4 is just decor. A poster of your M4 — the one you spent weekends washing, the one you remember every drive on — that's a story on your wall. That's the difference between us and the cheap print shops: we don't sell posters, we make memorials for the cars you love.
How we make them
Every poster passes through three pairs of hands.
1. Designer. Cleans up your photo, polishes contrast and color, and lays out the typography for your details (name, model, specs).
2. Printer. Pulls the file onto 200gsm matte archival paper using 12-color pigment inks engineered to resist fading for decades.
3. Framer. Hand-fits each print into a premium high-density MDF frame with shatterproof plexiglass, attaches hanging hardware, and quality-checks before packing.
It's slow on purpose. Custom posters take 3–5 business days from photo upload because we won't print until you've approved the digital preview. No surprises when the package arrives.
Why Bulgaria?
Because EU means no customs, no surprises, no Chinese drop-shipping.
Most custom car posters online ship from China. That's why the printing is hit-or-miss, why your "30-day delivery" turns into 6 weeks, and why customs sometimes charges you 30% on arrival.
Our studio is in Bulgaria — inside the European Union. For EU customers that means zero customs duties, zero VAT surprises, and 3–7 day delivery after production. For the rest of the world we still ship within 7–14 days with a clean tracking experience.
It's also why we can afford the obsessive quality control. When you're hand-checking every order, distance kills.
